About the Property

Legacy Lodge, formally known as Crystal Lodge, has been around since the mid 1950’s. The picture to the right is believed to have been taken in the 1960’s. The property served as a hotel and restaurant in the valley for many decades with ownership changing hands a few times leading up to the early 2000’s.

In 2008, the property was purchased by two of the current owners with the intent to use the property for family, friends, non-profit organizations, and the general public when able.

The lodge is used by the current owners as a place of retreat and as a home base for all of the adventures that the Lake City area has to offer.

A few 501c3 organizations will use the facility to further their own mission as well. One of these organizations, ReDefined Prosthetics, takes amputees up the surrounding 14,000 ft peaks.

Operating during the short summer and fall season, the lodge also have some weeks that the general public can rent out parts of the property or the entire property to use for their own events.

The lodge also opens it doors to help house attendees of local events such as the San Juan Solstice 50 mile race.
